"We are what we think.

"Believe nothing, no matter who has said it, not even if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense."

When we meditate we begin to see and experience the world in a different way. We begin over time to realise we are all connected and, in our common human preoccupations, pretty much all the same. We are shaped by what is going on around us; influenced by events across the planet of whose fate we are part. We also share a particular place in historical time. And at a critical point of change. Are we, as inhabitants of this troubled blue planet, and within a hand-span of years, headed for global breakdown or breakthrough, as author, Ervin Laszlo puts it?
Sydney Meditation Centre acknowledges our need for fresh ways of thinking, of connecting, of communicating and of evolving our consciousness. This Special Events Page is intended as a guide to recommended events with which you can choose to engage if you so wish and which you may find useful in your own journey. It is absolutely your choice. What you make of them is entirely up to you.

"Our problems are becoming more visible every day, and with each passing day more people are waking up to the need to do something about them. In a decision-window, they can do something about them. This is the silver lining, our unique opportunity to avert collapse and begin global renewal. Human societies, the same as planetary ecologies, are not infinitely stress-able; sooner or later, they reach a tipping point. We best concentrate our activism so as to tip them in a sustainable and peaceful direction."
Systems philosopher and Nobel Peace Prize nominee, Professor Ervin Laszlo, founder of the progressive think-tank, the Club of Budapest. Quote from his book The Chaos Point: The World at the Crossroads.
